| Wild Coast, Mountains and Zulu kingdom ![]() A journey from the golden beaches of the Ciskei to the Wild Coast of Mandela’s Xhosa heartland. Canyons, mountain tops and Zulu culture are just a part of the experience of this tour. Safaris in the National Parks conclude an all round nature and culture adventure. Please note that the sardine run is in June/July every year. Day 1 - Port Elizabeth to Port Alfred From Port Elizabeth we travel through the 1820 British Settler country and the pineapple areas Bathurst. Overnight on the shores of the Indian Ocean and its golden beaches. Day 2, 3 and 4 - Port Alfred to Coffee Bay The Wild Coast of Transkei will capture your imagination. We visit local villages, hike to natural wonders (hole in the wall). See an indigenous river with its mangrove forests. One of the specialties here is fresh seafood. Overnight in a hotel on this picturesque coast. Day 5 - Coffee Bay to Oribi Gorge From the Wild Coast we depart to the Hibiscus Coast of Southern Natal. An canyon landscape will be host for the night in a guesthouse. Day 6 - Oribi Gorge to Mooiriver We continue today and visit on route a waterfall before arriving near the Central Drakensberge on a very special guesthouse on a mountaintop. Day 7 - Mooiriver You experience today the most grandiose Bushmen gallery in Africa. Overnight at the guesthouse with wooden art. Day 8 and 9 - Mooiriver to Royal Natal National Park From our special hosts we depart today to the Northern Drakensberge. We stay here at the Royal Natal National Park. Some walks are available amongst them a visit to the Tugela Falls, the world’s second highest water fall. ![]() Day 10 - Royal Natal National Park to Shakaland We depart the majestic Drakensberge and travel through the undulating hills of Zululand. Drums will accompany you until late tonight. We stay in the Zulu village for the night. Day 11 and 12 - Shakaland to Umfolozi Hwluhluwe Game Park The oldest game park in Africa will provide you with great wild life experiences. Africa’s Big 5 are at home here in spectacular landscapes around the Umfolozi River. Overnight at a Hlwuhluwe luxury rest camp. Day 13 - Umfolozi to St Lucia Today we spend the day at St Lucia and you will see some of the many crocodiles and hippos that live here in the greater St Lucia wetlands. Overnight at a guesthouse in the village. Day 14 - St Lucia to Durban We will depart today to Durban. Here you will be able for a visit on the beaches before leaving to the airport and your overseas destination. End of tour.
